Around one thousand mobsters from Cikeusik village, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province attacked a house belonging to an Ahmadiyya member on Sunday around 10:30 local time.
The attack have caused three Ahmadiyya members died and 5 hospitalized. The mobs also burned one car, push another one off a cliff as well as destroying the house.
The attack was triggered by the exasperation of local resident seeing more and more Ahmadiyya members come to the Umbalan village to settle. The 20 odd policemen who were assigned to secure the area could not do much facing the larger number of mobs.

The Pandeglang Police say that the mob were angry after one of the Ahmadiyya member stabs one of the mobs during a heated argument. This accusation is strongly denied by Mubarik Ahmad a spokesperson for Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation.
Mubarik says that every time an attack is taking place against Ahmadiyya, it is always Ahmadiyya that is blamed while in fact they are the victim that needs protection.
“I’m saddened by the statement from Pandeglang Police in media blaming us. We are victims of criminal acts, please help us” says Mubarak.
“There are only some 20 members of our congregation there, I doubt very much the information saying that our members provoke this incident” added Mubarak.
Ahmadiyya is one sore subject in Indonesia where the majority of the population is Muslim. Unlike the Sunni, Shia or other branches of Islam that believes the Prophet Mohammed to be the last prophet, Ahmadiyya belives that while Prophet Mohammed is still the last law bearing prophet, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad who founded Ahmadiyya in 1889 was the Mehdi or Messiah prophecised by Prophet Mohammed. Many Muslim in Indonesia do not view Ahmadi or people who practice Ahmadiyya to be part of the Muslim religion.
Ahmadiyya which now has around 200,000 followers across Indonesian was banned in 2008 from practicing their faith. The groups defy the restriction and keep growing at a steady pace. Since then there has been numerous deadly attack against Ahmadiyya without perpetrator was ever brought to justice
Two of the largest Muslim organizations have condemned the attack. One is the National Awakening Party, a political party with large Muslim base and the other is GP Ansor.

Your report is misleading. Ahmadiyya is not anything parallel to Islam. Infact Ahmadiyya beleive that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian is the same Mahdi and Messiah prophecised by the Prophet Muhammad. And EVERY muslim, whichever sect he/she may belong to, beleive the same.

It says that Ahmadis consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian as the Last Prophet. This is entirely false. We consider the Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad the last law bearing prophet. We also believe that there can be more prophets who at the same time are the followers of Prophet Muhammad. Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is also one such prophet. We consider Muhammad (sa) to be the best of Prophets and the last law bearing prophet.
Exactly right pointed out! I have met with number of Ahmadi /Qadiani people they have same belief ‘Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad the last law bearing prophet.’ Hard liner Mullahs are making it sensitive after making a twist.
Ahmadis are the most peaceful sect in Islam today but unfortunately they are the only sect being persecuted by others, In my own opinion, is like this organization is the only one that the Holy Prophet Muhammed SAW described to be on the right path when His ummah will be divide in to 73 sects. If not why only them.
